PNR has finally upgraded with its contemporary transits after 50 years. PNR now has 18 operational trains, up from nine (9) previously.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) proudly said these additional trains are not refurbished, donated, or loaned; the DOTr’s Re-Fleeting Management Strategy involves this initiative.
MRT-7 construction to be completed soon.

The MRT-7, which was officially constructed after 20 years after the submission of the unsolicited proposal, is nearing completion.
New train sets for MRT-7 arrived in the country last September from South Korea. With this, 18 of the 108 rail cars that were completely manufactured are already on site.
With the MRT-7, passengers can expect a 35-minute journey time between Quezon City and San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. It is also expected to accommodate 300,000 passengers in its initial year of operation, with an increase of 850,000 passengers in its 12th year.
LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project near completion.

The first batch of train cars for the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project already arrived in the country from Spain and Mexico.
The LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project, delayed for nearly 19 years, has begun and is nearing completion.
In completion, the project will reduce travel time between Baclaran and Niog, Bacoor from 1 hour and 10 minutes to 25 minutes. It will also boost the line’s daily ridership from 458,000 now to 800,000 passengers.

First 8-car train set for PNR Clark Phase 1.

PNR Clark Phase 1 (Tutuban-Malolos) has already received its first 8-car train set. This is part of the massive North-South Commuter Railway (NCSR) Project. The project’s second train set will also arrive in the second quarter of this year.
Upon completion of the PNR Clark Phase 1 project connecting Malolos(Bulacan) and Tutuban(Manila), expect a reduced travel time from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 35 minutes. It will also be able to accommodate 300,000 passengers.
Newly overhauled light rail vehicles on MRT-3.
With MRT-3’s newly overhauled light rail vehicles, you can expect a comfortable, fast, and safer ride (LRVs). This was part of a massive rehabilitation project for the train.
With these railway modernization projects, the DOTr guarantees commuters that the country’s railway sector will continue to be improved on.
